When Life Feels Relentless

When life feels relentless

I think a lot of people are carrying more than they realise at the moment. Life can feel relentless. There is pressure coming from all sorts of places: work, family, finances, uncertainty, the constant noise of news and social media, and the sense that you are somehow meant to keep up with it all and still be okay.

For many people, that pressure builds quietly. It does not always look dramatic from the outside. Sometimes it looks like feeling tired all the time, being harder on yourself, losing patience, struggling to switch off, or feeling as though you are constantly running on empty. Sometimes people say they feel flat, overwhelmed, or just not quite like themselves.

I think this is part of why burnout shows up in so many different ways. It is not always simply about work. It can come from holding too much for too long, often without enough space to stop, process, or ask for support.

Counselling can help because it offers a place to step out of that pressure for a while. A place where someone does not need to keep performing, coping, or pushing through. Sometimes what people need most is not advice or quick answers, but the chance to pause and really look at what is going on underneath the exhaustion.

For me, therapy can be a space where people begin to understand themselves with a bit more care. To notice what they are carrying. To name what has been hard. And to feel less alone in it.

In a world that asks a lot of people, having a space to bring the parts of life that feel heavy, messy, or overwhelming can matter more than ever.
